Wedding Day//Brennan+Evan

Today really blew me away.... pun totally intended as Minnesota weather was at it's finest today with a mix of hot sun, high humidity and stormy winds. So windy that my camera nearly blew out of my hands during family portraits! The bride and groom though were completely un-phased! Brennan and Evan didn't seem to have an ounce of stress surrounding them! Completely relaxed and happy and go-with-the-flow. They tied the knot with laughter and smiles! And although winds were strong enough to create a sound barrier from just fifteen feet away, it never actually rained!

I've been wanting to shoot a barn wedding for so long and I couldn't believe when I found out Brennan and Evan's big day was not only in a barn, but just right in Maplewood! Both ceremony and reception took place at the beautiful grounds of Bruentrup Heritage Farm. This is truly a hidden gem just a stone's throw from Maplewood Mall. And although it is so close to such a lively area, you definitely feel secluded and far-far away from streetlights and highways. Completely surrounded by prairie and lush trees.

Today was a true family affair! From the officiant to the flowers and decor and even the cakes; Brennan and Evan's family had a hand in everything. Rustic touches including personalized, and DIY, wood coaster favor/escort cards to mason jars filled with various flowers from the farmer's market arranged, again, by family. Another first today-- a food truck! Such-an-awesome-idea! Gastrotruck nailed it! Not only with unique and delicious sliders but their service was fast and friendly. Yum.

Studio Veil got the party going with perfect selections from the late nineties and early two-thousands, a little something for everyone. Self proclaimed goofballs, Brennan and Evan held nothing back on the dance floor! And their guests followed suit. The end of the evening brought PERFECT weather. No joke, a light breeze, sunshine and not a drop of humidity. We took full advantage and headed out into the prairie one (or two) more times as the sun rested for the evening. And although we took more photos of Brennan and Evan today than they'd taken together over the last three years, it was totally worth it and they were troopers as I kept dragging them out! Although I think they totally were loving it-- check out that Dirty Dancing style lift!! Totally their idea. =)

Brennan and Evan, congratulations! Enjoy this recap of your beautiful, and blustery, wedding day!
